Remove the battery [А].
Refresh-charge by following method according to the battery terminal voltage.
Warning! This battery is sealed type. Never remove sealing caps [B] even at charging. Never add water. Charge with current and time as stated below.
Terminal Voltage: 11.5 — less than 12.8 V
Standard Charge: 0.9 A x 5-10 h (see following chart)
Quick Charge: 4.0 A x 1.0 h
Caution! If possible, do not quick charge. If the quick charge is done due to unavoidable circumstances, do standard charge later on.
Terminal Voltage: less than 11.5 V
Charging Method: 0.9 A x 20 h
Note. Raise the voltage initially (25 V as maximum), and charge for about 5 minutes as a yardstick. If ammeter shows no change in current after 5 minutes, you need a new battery. The current, if it can flow into the battery, tends to become excessive. Adjust the voltage as often as possible to keep the current at standard value (12 A).

Determine battery condition after refreshing charge.
Determine the condition of the battery 30 minutes after completion of the charge by measuring the terminal voltage according to the table below.
Criteria | Judgement |
12.8 V or higher | Good |
12.0-12.8 V or lower | Charge insufficient → Recharge. |
12.0 V or lower | Unserviceable → Replace |
