Warning!
- Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
- A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
- An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the motorcycle.
Warning! If the engine has recently been running, the engine oil will be hot to the touch. Contact with the hot oils may cause damage to exposed skin. To avoid skin damage, do not touch hot oil.
Warning! Prolonged or repeated contact with engine oil can lead to skin dryness, irritation and dermatitis. In addition, used engine oil contains potentially harmful contamination which can cause cancer. Wear suitable clothing and avoid skin contact. The engine oil and filter must be replaced in accordance with scheduled maintenance requirements.
Note: Prior to disassembly of the coolant hose, note the orientation and position of the hose clip to help ensure that it is returned to the same position and orientation on assembly.
Perform the following operations:
- Seat - removal
- Battery - removal
- Coolant replacement - drainage
- Drain the engine oil see Oil and oil filter change
1. Disconnect the coolant hose from the heat exchanger.
2. Release the fixings and remove the heat exchanger.

Heat exchanger - inspection
1. Check the heat exchanger body for corrosion and/or damage.
