Warning!
- Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
- A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
- An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the motorcycle.
1. Position the cable to the motorcycle using the same routing as noted during removal.
2. Attach the inner cable to the clutch lever and actuating arm using a reversal of the removal process.
3. Refit the outer cable to the adjuster bracket at the clutch end.
4. Attach the clutch cable retaining clip to its bracket.
5. Secure the clutch cable retaining clip to the top of the radiator.
6. Route the clutch cable behind the headstock cable guide. Secure the cable guide with a new fixing and tighten to 13 Nm.
Note: Ensure that the two adjuster nuts are positioned one either side of the bracket. Ensure the steering is at full right hand lock to adjust the clutch cable.
7. Turn the steering to full right hand lock.
8. Set the lever adjuster to a point where an equal adjustment is possible in both directions.
9. Set the adjuster at the clutch end to give a preliminary setting of 2-3 mm of free play as measured at the lever. Tighten the lock nut.
10. Operate the clutch lever several times and recheck the amount of free play present.
Note: Ensure the curved elbow piece at the lever end is pointing forward to angle the cable around the ignition switch. Ensure the curved elbow piece at the lever end is positioned horizontally level with the clutch lever body and not rotated up or down.
11. Set the final adjustment of the cable to give 2 - 3 mm of free play at the lever by turning the adjuster nut and lock nut at the lever end. Ensure the curved elbow piece at the lever end is pointing forward and is level horizontally with the clutch lever body.
