Disassembling/assembling alternator (BMW R1150GS)

Remove the cover retaining screws (1).

Unscrew nut (2) and remove sleeve (3).

Remove the cover.

Remove voltage regulator (4).

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Note: The belt pulley cannot be removed.

Checking alternator

Test with BMW MoDiTeC.

Checking armature for short to ground (earth)

Test with BMW MoDiTeC.
