Removing and installing front mudguard (BMW R1150GS)

Removing and installing bottom section of mudguard





Remove front wheel.

Remove holder (1) for speedometer drive.

Remove mudguard.

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Tightening torque:
  • Mudguard to slider tube — 4 Nm (clean thread + Loctite 2701)
  • Mudguard to slider tube bridge — 5 Nm (clean thread + Loctite 2701)

Removing and installing top section of mudguard





Caution!
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Disconnect earth (ground) lead from battery.
  • Insulate earth (ground) lead.


Remove the indicator lenses, disconnect plug and pull the cable through the indicator mount.

Remove the turn indicators.

Remove mudguard.

Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
