Oil pressure (at 3000 rpm, oil temperature 60°C):
- Over 50 kPa (0.5 kgf/cm2)
- Below 150 kPa (1.5 kgf/cm2)
Lower or higher blood pressure may be due to the following:
Low pressure:
- Dirty filter
- Oil leak from oil channels
- Damaged rubber O-ring
- Faulty oil pump
- Set of conditions above
High pressure:
- Oil viscosity too high
- Dirty oil passages
- The combination of the above conditions
Technique for checking oil pressure
Connect the tachometer to the high-voltage wire.
Remove the plug (1) oil channel.
Attach an oil pressure gauge to the oil passage.
Warm up the engine as follows:
- Summer: 10 minutes at 2000 rpm
- Winter: 20 minutes at 2,000 rpm
After warming up, set the crankshaft speed to 3000 rpm, and take readings from the oil pressure gauge.
