The maximum pressure must not exceed 6 bar.
Oil pressures:
Cold engine:
- at 1100-1300 rpm: at least 2.5 bar.
- at 3500-4000 rpm: between 4 and 6 bar.
Hot engine:
- at 1100-1300 rpm: at least 1.1 bar.
- at 3500-4000 rpm: between 4 and 6 bar.
A pressure which is too high indicates that the limit valve is jamming. A pressure which is too low indicates that the limit valve is jammed in the open position, that the spring is too weak, or that the oil pump is faulty. Other causes of faulty pressure readings include: badly worn seals and gaskets; badly worn engine.
