The manufacturer recommends the use of high-quality motorcycle oils with an API classification of at least SF (SF, SG, SH etc). Oil viscosity (SAE) must be selected according to the operating temperature.
In normal summer operation, the best choice would be oil with a viscosity of SAE 10W40.
1. Install the motorcycle on the center stand.
2. We start the engine and. warm it up to operating temperature, turn off the ignition.
3. We substitute a container for draining oil with a volume of at least 4 liters under the oil pan.
4. We turn out the engine filler cap.
5. With a spanner wrench or a 17 mm tool head, loosen the drain plug of the engine oil pan.
Attention! The oil in the crankcase is hot! It is recommended to turn out the drain plug with rubberized gloves. Avoid skin contact with used oil.
6. Carefully unscrew the drain plug.
7. It is important to drain as much used oil as possible from the engine. To do this, leave the drain hole open for 10-15 minutes.
8. We inspect the copper or aluminum sealing washer of the drain plug. If it is severely deformed, replace it.
Attention! Before unscrewing the oil filter, it is recommended to place a rag or paper under it to collect the spilled oil.
9. Unscrew the oil filter.
10. If the filter cannot be unscrewed by hand and there is no oil filter remover, sliding pliers can be used to loosen the tightening.
11. We wrap and tighten the drain plug with a torque of 34 N·m.
12. We clean the plane of the crankcase at the place where the oil filter sealing ring fits.
13. Lubricate the rubber o-ring of the new filter with engine oil.
14. Screw the filter onto the fitting. The filter must be tightened by hand (tightening torque - 10 Nm).
15. Fill the engine with oil through the filler neck.
Refueling volumes:
- Oil change with filter replacement - 2.9 liters.
- Total oil volume in the lubrication system (after disassembling the engine) - 3.6 l.
16. Control the amount of oil poured with a dipstick (see «Checking the oil level»).
Attention! It is strictly forbidden to raise the engine speed above idle speed for 3-4 minutes of operation after changing the oil.
17. We start the engine. The emergency oil pressure warning lamp will light up on the instrument panel. After 5-7 seconds after starting, the lamp should go out.
18. Let the engine run for a few minutes. We turn off the engine. After 10-15 minutes, we control the oil level with a dipstick, add oil if necessary.
