Note. The limit switch built into the side stop is part of the ignition circuit breaker system, which interrupts ignition operations in certain situations. (See page 3-26 for an explanation of the ignition circuit breaker system).
Warning! The motorcycle should not be ridden with the side stand down or if the side stand cannot be raised to the proper position (or the stop does not stay in the proper up position). Otherwise, the side support may touch the road surface and distract the driver, leading to possible loss of control. The Ignition Circuit Interrupter System is designed by YAMAHA to assist the rider in ensuring that the side stand is raised before the motorcycle is driven. Therefore, check this system regularly as described below and have it repaired by your Yamaha dealer if it does not operate properly.
