Control cables — inspection and lubrication (Honda CB400SF/1)

Maintenance of control cables consists of regularly lubricating them and checking for damage. The cables are lubricated with engine oil every 10,000 km using a homemade oiler, as shown in the figure.



Also, during a visual inspection, it is necessary to check the cables for the presence of broken threads. The use of cables in which at least one thread is torn is unacceptable; such cables must be replaced.
