When servicing and repairing the power system, you must remember that gasoline is an extremely flammable and explosive liquid. When working with fuel, you can get serious burns and injuries if you do not follow safety precautions. When refueling a motorcycle, you must turn off the engine and keep sources of heat, sparks and open flames away from the fuel. Refueling should only be done outdoors. If fuel splashes onto the paintwork, the spilled fuel must be wiped up immediately. When refueling at a gas station, you must visually monitor the fuel level in the tank and prevent overflow.
Before starting work on the fuel system, be sure to disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal. It should be remembered that gasoline vapors are toxic, and therefore all work on the fuel system must be carried out in a well-ventilated area.
