System components

See Figure 14. H-DSSS Intelligent Security System (Harley-Davidson Smart Security System) consists of an automatic safety system module HFSM (Hands-Free Security Module) (1) and antennas for wireless communication (2), mounted on a motorcycle. The system also includes a control key fob located on the driver or passenger.

After you park the motorcycle, turn the ignition key to OFF and after 5 seconds the intelligent security system will automatically turn on. When the security system is turned on, the starter and ignition are disabled and the driver can leave the motorcycle; if intruders try to turn on the ignition or move the motorcycle, the security system will turn on the siren.

If the key fob is located near the motorcycle, the security system module will automatically turn off when the ignition key is turned to the IGNITION or ACCESS position.

Note. Do not change the installation location of the module or antenna on the motorcycle.
