Wash the bores in the calipers, as well as the pistons, in appropriate brake fluid. Thoroughly wash the O-ring grooves and boots.
Brake fluid: DOT 4
Attention!
- Flush the brake caliper components with new brake fluid before reassembling.
- Do not wipe off brake fluid from parts after washing.
- When washing parts, use appropriate brake fluid. Never use different types of brake fluid or cleaning fluids (gasoline, kerosene, solvent).
- Replace the removed seals and boots with new ones.
- Apply brake fluid to all seals and boots, pistons and caliper drillings before reassembly.
Piston seals
Install piston seals (1) and anthers (2) into the corresponding grooves on the brake caliper as shown in the illustration.
Brake caliper mounting
Apply SUZUKI SILICON GREASE to the caliper as shown in the figure.
99000-25100: suzuki silicone grease
Tighten the pad bolt (1), caliper mounting bolts (2), union (3) and a stub (4) with appropriate effort.
Pad mounting bolt: 18 Nm (1.8 kgf-m)
Caliper mounting bolt: 26 Nm (2.6 kgf-m)
Brake hose connection: 23 Nm (2.3 kgf-m)
Plug: 2.5 Nm (0.25 kgf-m)
Note. Before installing the caliper, push the pistons completely into the caliper.
Attention! Bleed the brake system after installing the caliper (section 2-17).
