Remove the spark plug cap and unscrew the spark plug.
Carbon deposits on the candle
Check for carbon deposits on the spark plug. If there is carbon deposits, remove it with a cleaning machine or carefully with a sharp-tipped tool.
Spark plug gap
Measure the spark plug gap using a feeler gauge. If the gap is not normal, adjust it.
Normal gap: 0.7-0.8mm
09900-20803: Dipstick
Central electrode
Check the condition of the spark plug electrode. If the electrode is badly worn or burnt, replace the spark plug with a new one. Also replace the spark plug if the insulator, thread, etc. are damaged.
Attention! Check the thread diameter and thread length. If it is not long enough, carbon deposits will be deposited on the exposed threads of the threaded hole, which can cause engine damage.
Installing the spark plug
Insert the spark plug into the spark plug hole and tighten it by hand, then tighten it to the appropriate torque.
Spark plug: 11 Nm (1.1 kgf-m).
