- Loose link axles
- Twisted or jammed links
- Damaged rollers
- Bent or jammed links
- Rusted links
- Excessive wear
- Missing seals
If any damage is found, replace the chain.
Attention! The standard motorcycle chain is DID520V2. Suzuki recommends using the same one when replacing.
Note. When replacing the chain, it is recommended to replace it and the sprockets as a set.
Remove the cotter pin. (E-03, 28)
Loosen the rear wheel axle nut (1).
Tension the chain by turning the chain tensioners (2).
Count 21 pins (20 links) on the chain and measure the distance between the two points. If the distance is more than specified, replace the chain with a new one
9900-20103: Vernier caliper.
Standard length of 20 chain links: 319.4 mm.
Loosen or tighten both chain tensioners (1), until the chain slack in the middle between the two sprockets, as shown in the figure, is 40-50 mm. Chain tensioner clamps (2) on the pendulum should indicate the same values on the chain tensioners.
Chain deflection: 30-45 mm.
After adjusting the chain tension, tighten the rear wheel axle nut (3) at the appropriate moment.
Rear wheel axle nut: 110 Nm (11.0 kgf-m).
