Remove the spark plug cap and unscrew the spark plug (section 2-9).
During checks:
- Disconnect the oil lines.
- Remove the cylinder head cover.
The clearances for the intake and exhaust valves are different. Valve clearance values are checked and adjusted:
- 1) during periodic maintenance.
- 2) when the valve mechanism is serviced.
- 3) when the timing mechanism is removed for maintenance.
Note.
- During inspection and adjustment, the piston must be at TDC. on the compression stroke.
- Checking and adjusting the clearances should be done on a cold engine.
- Remove the generator cover plug (1) and a traffic jam (2) to monitor the moment of opening (closing) valve
Turn the crankshaft with a wrench to set the piston to TDC on the compression stroke. (Rotate the crankshaft until the mark «T» on the generator rotor does not coincide with the center of the hole in the generator cover).
Insert a dipstick between the tappet and the camshaft cam. If the gap is not correct, adjust it according to the value below.
09900-20803: Dipstick.
Valve clearances (cold):
- intake: 0.10-0.20 mm
- release: 0.20-0.30 mm
