The throttle twist grip must have a free travel of 2 to 4 mm/0.078-0.157 in. (measured on the twist grip rim) in all steering positions. Fine adjustment can be made by turning the adjuster on the twist grip.
For larger adjustments, use the adjuster (1) on the RH side of the throttle body.
Remove the cap, loosen the lock nut (2) and turn the adjuster to obtain the cable play required.
Tighten the lock nut and slide the protective cap back on.
To adjust the choke cable, use the adjuster on the throttle body.
Remove the protective cap, loosen the lock nut (4) and turn the adjuster (3) to obtain the play required.
At regular intervals, check the condition of the outer sheath on the accelerator and choke control cables. The plastic sheathing must be undamaged and free from cracks and kinks. Grease the cable ends with the grease specified.
Operate the twist grip and the choke lever to check that the cables operate smoothly. Change cables which jam or are stiff to operate.
To grease the throttle cable mechanism:
unscrew the 2 screws (A) and remove the twist grip cover.
Grease the cable end and the cam pulley cam.
Caution! When refitting the cover ensure that the cable (B) is inserted in the slider in the cover (C).
