The battery is located behind the headlamp, under the frame backbone.
Note. See 1.4 Airbox and air filter. You must remove the airbox assembly to gain access to the battery.
Warning! Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead components, chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
Warning! All batteries contain electrolyte. Electrolyte is a sulfuric acid solution that is highly corrosive and can cause severe chemical burns. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Avoid spillage. Always wear approved protective face shield, rubberized gloves, and protective clothing when working with batteries or electrolyte solution. KEEP BATTERIES AND ACID OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
See Figure 8-17. A warning label is attached to the top of the battery. Never remove the warning label from the battery.
