Warning! Proper repair and maintenance procedures are important for the safety of the mechanic and for the safety and reliability of the motorcycle.
When two or more people work together, ensure mutual safety.
If it becomes necessary to start the engine indoors, make sure that exhaust gases are forced out.
When working with toxic or flammable materials, make sure the work area is well ventilated and that you follow all instructions from the manufacturer of the materials.
Never use gasoline as a cleaner.
To avoid burns, do not touch the engine, engine oil, or exhaust system components until they have cooled completely.
When servicing the fuel, oil and exhaust systems, check all seams and seals for leaks.
Attention! When parts need to be replaced, replace them with genuine Suzuki parts or their equivalent.
When removed parts are to be reused, keep them organized so that they are reassembled in the correct sequence and orientation.
Be sure to use a special tool if prescribed.
Make sure reused parts are clean. Lubricate them when directed.
Use prescribed lubricants, fasteners and seals.
When removing the battery, disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal. When installing the battery, connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal. Then reinstall the positive terminal protective cap.
If maintenance procedures do not require turning on the power and you are working on electrical parts, disconnect the negative battery cable.
When tightening cylinder head fasteners or engine crankcase bolts and nuts, tighten the larger ones first. Tighten the fasteners from the center of the part to the edges and crosswise.
When removing oil seals, oil seals, packings, rubber rings, lock washers, cotter pins, locking pins and certain other specifically designated parts, replace them with new ones. In addition, before installing new parts, make sure that the mating surfaces are clean.
Never reuse snap rings. When installing a new ring, try not to spread its end any further than necessary to fit onto the shaft. After installing the ring, make sure it is completely seated in the groove and securely seated.
Use a torque wrench to tighten the fasteners to the specified torque. If the threads are coated with grease, clean the threads.
After assembling the unit, check the correctness and strength of the assembly.
To protect the environment, do not throw away waste where it is not intended: motor oil and other fluids, batteries and tires.
To protect the Earth's natural resources, dispose of unusable motorcycles and motorcycle parts properly.
