1. We inspect the chain: there should be no noticeable mechanical damage on the chain (cracks, deformations of links, etc.), special attention must be paid to the chain lock if a collapsible design is used. If any damage is found, the chain must be replaced.
Attention! The motorcycle must not be operated with a damaged chain.
2. Check the chain tension: place the motorcycle on a center stand or stand (portable motorcycle stand). There should be 30-40 mm slack in the lower chain in the middle, between the lowest and highest positions without any load on the motorcycle).
5. If the chain slack is greater or less than the specified range, adjust its tension.
6. Holding the rear wheel axle from turning with a 17 mm spanner on the left side of the swingarm...
... loosen the axle nut with a 24 mm box or socket wrench.
7. Loosen the locknuts of the adjusting studs with a 12 mm wrench and unscrew them 4-5 turns.
8. Using a 14mm wrench to tighten or loosen the adjusting stud nuts. we move the wheel forward or backward in the pendulum, thereby increasing or decreasing the tension of the chain.
9. There are scales on both sides of the pendulum, and marks on the ends of the axis. After adjusting the chain tension, you must make sure that the wheel is installed strictly perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the motorcycle, using special scales to control (both marks should take the same position relative to the scales). If necessary, adjust the position of the wheel by tightening or unscrewing the nut of the adjusting pin on the right pendulum.
1 - scale; 2 - risk on the axis
10. Tighten the locknuts of the adjusting studs.
