Personal identification number (PIN) (Harley V-Rod VRSCA)

The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a number that can be used to disable the Harley-Davidson Intelligent Security System if the assigned key fob is lost, fails, or if the fob and module are unable to communicate with each other due to electromagnetic interference.

The PIN number is a five-digit number (digits can take values from 1 to 9, zero is not used).

Change PIN number



To ensure safety, the driver can change the PIN number at any time. See Table 19.

1Select PIN - a 5-digit combination (numbers can take values from 1 to 9) and write it down on a card inserted into your wallet
2Having the control key fob assigned to the motorcycle with you, turn the ignition key sequentially to the IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION positions.
3Press the left turn signal switch 3 times.
4Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.The direction indicators will flash 3 times. The current PIN will appear on the odometer. The first digit will flash.See the illustration for the odometer window showing the PIN.
5Enter the first digit of the new PIN number by pressing the left turn signal switch a time.
6Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.In the odometer window, the digit of the current license plate will be replaced by a new digit (a).
7Enter the second digit of the new PIN number by pressing the left turn signal switch b times.
8Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.In the odometer window, the digit of the current license plate will be replaced by a new digit (b).
9Enter the third digit of the new PIN number by pressing the left turn signal switch once.
10Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.In the odometer window, the digit of the current license plate will be replaced by a new digit (c).
11Enter the fourth digit of the new PIN number by pressing the left turn signal switch d times.
12Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.In the odometer window, the digit of the current license plate will be replaced by a new digit (d).
13Enter the fifth digit of the new PIN number by pressing the left turn signal switch e times.
14Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release the switch.In the odometer window, the digit of the current license plate will be replaced by a new digit (e).
15Before the module turns on again, turn the ignition key to the OFF position.The odometer will start showing your mileage again.Turn the ignition key to the OFF position to store the new PIN in the module's memory.
