If the key icon remains illuminated while driving, contact your Harley-Davidson dealer.

Keychain

When the key fob is near the motorcycle - if the intelligent security system continues to sound warning lights and alarms, the reason for this may be the following:

1. Electromagnetic interference: The source may be: another electronic device, high-voltage power lines, other sources of electromagnetic radiation that can cause the intelligent security system to malfunction.
  • a. Make sure the key fob is not in a metal container or within 3.0 inches (76 mm) from any other electronic devices.
  • b. Place the key fob on the seat and turn the ignition key to the IGNITION position. After the module turns off, return it to the usual place where you keep it.
  • c. Move the motorcycle to a location at least 15 feet away from interference (5 m).

2. The key fob battery is low: Turn off the module using the PIN. Replace the battery. See section Key fob battery.

3. The key fob is damaged: Turn off the module using the PIN. Replacement key fobs can be purchased from your Harley-Davidson dealer.

Siren

If the siren does not beep two or three times when properly commanded to turn on by the security system module, the siren is either in silent mode, is not connected or is not functioning, or the siren wires were open or shorted when the siren was turned off..

If the siren is enabled and the system's internal battery is low, shorted, disconnected, or charged for more than 24 hours, the siren will beep three times instead of two when the security system is activated.

The siren's internal battery may not charge if the motorcycle's battery voltage is less than 12.5V.

If the siren switches to operating mode only from the internal battery (the siren is powered only by the internal 9 V battery), the turn signal lights may or may not flash alternately. If the security module has activated the siren, the turn signal lights will flash alternately. If the siren was on (and was in operating mode only from the internal battery) and the security system is activated, the siren will sound for 20 to 30 seconds and then turn off for 5 to 10 seconds. This beeping cycle will be repeated 10 times (if the siren operates in power mode only from the internal battery).
