Checking the exhaust system (Yamaha XVS 1100 Drag Star)

The following procedure applies to all of the exhaust pipes, mufflers and gaskets.

1. Check:

• exhaust pipes (1)
• muffler (2). Cracks/damage → Replace.
• gaskets (3). Exhaust gas leaks → Replace.

2. Check: tightening torque

• Exhaust pipe nut (4): 20 Nm (2.0 m·kg)
• Exhaust pipe and muffler bolt (5): 20 Nm (2.0 m·kg)
• Muffler and muffler bracket bolt (6): 25 Nm (2.5 m·kg)
