Note. When operating the vehicle in wet or dusty areas, off-road or for sporting purposes, maintenance must be carried out twice as often as indicated.
Carbon monoxide
If any operation requires the engine to run, perform the operation outdoors or in a very well ventilated area. Do not leave the engine running indoors. When working indoors, be sure to use an exhaust system.
Attention! Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas that can cause unconsciousness or even death.
Attention!
- Internal combustion engine fuel is flammable and can be explosive under certain conditions. It is therefore recommended that refueling and maintenance be carried out in ventilated areas with the engine switched off. Do not smoke while refueling or near fuel vapors. Avoid any contact with open flames, sparks or other sources that could cause ignition or explosion of vapors.
- Do not allow fuel to enter the environment.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Falling or excessive tilting of the vehicle may result in a fuel spill.
Hot components
The engine and exhaust system parts become very hot and remain hot for some time even after the engine is turned off. When handling these components, be sure to wear insulated gloves or wait until the engine and exhaust system have cooled.
Coolant
Coolant contains ethylene glycol, which may become flammable under certain conditions. When ethylene glycol burns, an invisible flame is formed, which, however, can cause burns.
Attention!
- Be careful not to spill coolant on hot engine or exhaust system parts; the liquid may ignite with an invisible flame. It is recommended to wear latex gloves when performing maintenance operations.
- Although the coolant is toxic, it has a sweetish odor that is very attractive to animals. Do not leave coolant in open containers in areas accessible to animals, as they may drink it.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The coolant is under pressure and can cause burns.
Used engine and transmission oil
Attention!
- When performing vehicle maintenance, it is recommended to wear latex gloves.
- If you work with engine or transmission oil for a long time and on a regular basis, it can cause serious skin damage.
- Wash your hands thoroughly after handling oil.
- Take the oil to your nearest used oil collection point or return it to your supplier.
- Do not allow oil to enter the environment.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
Brake fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid
Attention!
- Brake and clutch fluid can damage plastic and rubber painted surfaces.
- When servicing the brake or clutch system, cover such components with a clean cloth. Be sure to wear safety glasses when servicing these systems. Brake and clutch fluid are very harmful to the eyes. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of cold, clean water and seek medical attention.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
Hydrogen gas emitted by the battery and electrolyte
Attention!
- Battery electrolyte is toxic, highly corrosive and contains sulfuric acid; if it comes into contact with skin, it may cause burns. When working with battery electrolyte, wear tightly fitting gloves and protective clothing. If electrolyte gets on your skin, wash it off well with plenty of clean water. It is especially important to protect your eyes, as even a very small amount of battery acid can cause blindness. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with plenty of water for 15 minutes and contact your eye doctor immediately.
- If the liquid is accidentally swallowed, drink large quantities of water or milk, then drink magnesium suspension or vegetable oil and seek immediate medical attention. The battery emits explosive gases; there should be no flames, sparks, lit cigarettes or any other heat sources near it. When servicing or charging the battery, ensure good ventilation.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Electrolyte is corrosive. Do not allow electrolyte to come into contact with various parts, especially plastic ones. Make sure that the electrolyte acid is compatible with the battery being serviced.
Support
Attention!
- Before starting to move, make sure that the support is completely retracted to its original position.
- The driver or passenger should not put their weight on the side support.
Reporting problems that affect safety
Unless otherwise specified in this Operation and Maintenance Manual, do not remove any mechanical or electrical components.
Attention! If installed incorrectly, some connectors in a vehicle may be accidentally mixed up, causing the vehicle to malfunction.
