Remove
Seat
1. See Figure 3-73. Remove seat.
- a. Remove seat retention screw (5).
- b. Slide seat (1) back to release from seat retention tab (3).
- c. Slide seat forward and lift above the fuel tank (2).
- d. Pull seat forward through seat strap (4).
Seat Retention Nut
1. See Figure 3-74. Remove seat retention nut.
- a. Hold nut (1).
- b. Remove clip (2).
Seat Strap
1. See Figure 3-75. Remove seat strap.
- a. Remove screws and washers (2-3).
- b. Remove strap (1).

Seat
Warning: After installing seat, pull upward on seat to be sure it is locked in position. While riding, a loose seat can shift causing loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury.
1. See Figure 3-73. Install seat.
- a. Insert rear of seat (1) through seat strap (4).
- b. Slide seat forward and on to seat retention tab (3).
- c. Install seat retention screw (5). Tighten to 2.3-4.5 Nm (21-39 in·lbs).
Seat Retention Nut
1. See Figure 3-74. Install seat retention nut.
- a. Align nut (1) with hole in rear fender (3).
- b. Insert nut through rear fender.
- c. Install clip (2).
Seat Strap
1. See Figure 3-75. Install seat strap.
- a. Align strap (1) as shown.
- b. Install screws and washers (2-3) though holes (4) in strap. Tighten to 9.0-11.0 Nm (80-97 in·lbs).
