Swingarm — removal and installation (Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-600-J)

Removal



Remove:
  • Rear Wheel (see Wheels/Tires chapter)
  • Chain Cover
  • Brake Hose Clamp [A]
  • Lower Shock Absorber Nut and Bolt [B]
  • Upper Tie-Rod Nut and Bolt [C]
  • Swingarm Pivot Nut [D]



Pull off the pivot shaft and remove the swingarm.

Installation



Apply plenty of grease to the ball bearing, needle bearings and grease seals, and add plenty grease to the grease nipple.

Install the collars [A] and cap [B].



Insert the pivot shaft into the frame from the right side.

Tighten the pivot nut.

Torque - Swingarm Pivot Nut: 110 N·m (11.0 kg·m, 80 ft·lb)


Install the removed parts (see appropriate chapters).
