- Remove the right and left air cleaner box bolts.
Note: Indicates hook location.
- Loosen the air cleaner box clamp screw and disconnect the drain tube 1.
- Remove the air cleaner box.
- Remove the air cleaner case 1.
- Remove the air cleaner element 2.
- Carefully use air hose to blow the dust from the cleaner element.
Caution: Always use air pressure on the center air cleaner side of the air cleaner element. If air pressure is used on the other side, dirt will be forced into the pores of the air cleaner element thus restricting air flow through the air cleaner element.
Note: If driving under dusty conditions, clean the air cleaner element more frequently. Make sure that the air cleaner is in good condition at all times. The life of the engine depends largely on this component.
- Install the cleaned or new air cleaner element in the reverse order of removal.
Note: When cleaning the air cleaner element, drain water from the air cleaner by removing the drain plug.
