Removing the front fork (Ducati ST2)

Unscrew the four screws (1) and remove the front mudguard.



Warning! Do not ride the motorcycle without the front mudguard. The front mudguard also acts as a brake hose support and prevents interference between the hose and the wheel during braking.


Remove the front wheel, and the front and side fairing sections as described previously.

Loosen the pinch bolts (2) holding the fork stanchions to the upper steering yoke.



Loosen the pinch bolts (3) holding the fork stanchions to the lower steering yoke.

Slide the stanchions out downwards. Overhaul where necessary.



At reassembly, insert the stanchions in the bottom steering head yoke and fix at the measurement shown in the figure.

Tighten the stanchion pinch bolts on the upper and lower steering head yokes to the specified torques.

Caution! If the pinch bolts (2 and 3) are removed during disassembly, they must be greased before refitting and tightening.


Refit all the parts removed during disassembly.
