Re-use the left side cover or a service cover, with puller 88713.0144 fitted. Secure it with the original screws to the crankcase half and begin separation by turning the central pin of the tool.
Tap alternately on the crankshaft and the gearbox primary shaft with a plastic hammer until the crankcase halves have been separated.
Note. Do not damage or lose the shims on the shafts and on the selector drum.
Remove the inner ring (A) from the end part of the primary shaft and insert it in the bearing on the left side crankcase half.
Remove the timing system shaft stop ring on the right side crankcase half.
Remove the timing system shaft.
Pull out the crankshaft using a plastic hammer. Do not damage or lose the shims.
