The generator stator, engine sensor and water pump unit are fitted to this cover.

Remove the left side cover as follows:
  • unscrew the crankcase half retaining screws;
  • unscrew the two cover retaining screws (2) at the crankshaft;
  • fix the puller 88713.0144 to the holes of the two screws (2) just removed;
  • slowly turn the central pin of the puller until the cover is detached from the left crankcase half;
  • check if the internal ring of the bearing (A) supporting the end part of the crankshaft has remained housed in the cover or in the crankshaft: in the latter case, remove it from the crankshaft and insert it in the left side cover seat.

If you have to change the mechanical seal or the bearings on the rotor shaft, proceed as follows:


  • remove the circlip (3) from inside the left side cover (see diagram);
  • remove the rotor with shaft from the outside and change the seals or the bearings.
