Prepare
1. Remove main fuse. See Power disconnect.
2. If removing rear turn signal lamp:
- a. Remove seat. See Removing and installing seat.
- b. Remove rear fender. See Rear fender.
Remove
Bulb
1. See Figure 8-29. Remove bulb.
- a. Remove lens screw (3).
- b. Remove lens (1).
- c. Remove bulb.
Lamp
1. See Figure 8-30. Disconnect rear turn signal connector.
- a. Remove harness from retainers.
- b. Disconnect rear turn signal connector.
- c. Remove rear turn signal connector. See A.7 SUMITOMO MTWAND MTL UNSEALED CONNECTORS.
2. See Figure 8-31. Remove retainer clip.
3. See Figure 8-29. Remove turn signal lamp.
- a. Remove housing screw (2).
- b. Remove lamp.
Install

Bulb
1. See Figure 8-29. Install bulb.
- a. Install bulb.
- b. Install lens (1).
- c. Install lens screw (3). Tighten to 0.6-0.8 Nm (5-7 in·lbs).
Lamp
1. See Figure 8-29. Install turn signal lamp.
- a. Install lamp.
- b. Install screw (2). Tighten to 3.9-5.9 Nm (35-52 in·lbs).
2. See Figure 8-30. Install rear turn signal connector.
- a. Install rear turn signal connector onto wires. See A.7 SUMITOMO MTWAND MTL UNSEALED CONNECTORS.
- b. Connect rear turn signal connector to harness.
- c. Install wires into retainers.
3. See Figure 8-31. Install retainer clip. Tighten to 1.2-2.0 Nm (11-17 in·lbs).

Complete
1. If rear turn signal lamp was removed: a. Install rear fender. See Rear fender. b. Install seat. See Removing and installing seat. 2. Install main fuse. See Power disconnect.
Warning: Be sure that all lights and switches operate properly before operating motorcycle. Low visibility of rider can result in death or serious injury.
3. Check operation of all lamps.
