Excessively high coolant temperatures indicate that the radiator fins are partially clogged.
Check the radiator cooling surfaces. Check the cooling fins for leaves, insects, dirt and other objects blocking the smooth flow of air over the cooling surfaces. Remove these obstructions taking care not to damage the radiator components.
Bent fins will also obstruct the smooth flow of air through the radiator. Straighten any fins which are bent.
If more than 20% of the radiator cooling surfaces are blocked or damaged, change the radiator.
At regular intervals check the hose connections for leaks.
Change all hoses which are cracked, swollen or hard.
