In the event of a malfunction, different icons are displayed at the bottom of the display depending on the cause.

Contact your authorized Aprilia dealer as soon as possible.

An alarm about the need for maintenance

If a fault is detected in the instrument panel or electronic control unit, the SERVICE icon is displayed on the instrument panel and the red general warning lamp comes on.

If the immobilizer fails when starting the engine, a request to enter a user code is displayed on the dashboard. If the code is entered correctly, the SERVICE icon is displayed on the instrument panel to indicate a malfunction and the red general indicator light comes on.

Emergency signal for urgent maintenance

a serious fault is indicated by a rapidly flashing (twice per second) general warning light and the words URGENT and SERVICE ("emergency" and "maintenance"), alternately displayed on the digital display. Contact your authorized Aprilia dealer as soon as possible. In such cases, the control unit activates a safety system that limits the vehicle's performance so that the driver can reach an Aprilia dealer at low speed. Depending on the type of malfunction, performance can be limited in two ways:

  • A) decrease in maximum torque;
  • b) maintaining engine speed slightly above idle speed (In this mode the throttle does not work).

Air temperature sensor failure

If the air temperature sensor fails, fixed symbols are displayed on the instrument panel to indicate this failure «-» instead of the usual temperature display. In this case, the red general indicator lamp does not turn on.

Malfunction in the oil system

In the event of low oil pressure or failure of the oil pressure sensor on the instrument panel, this lamp and the red general warning lamp come on.

Engine overheating alarm

The overheat alarm is activated when the temperature reaches 115°C. The red general indicator lamp lights up for indication.

Electronic control unit shutdown alarm

If a lack of connection is detected, a disconnect icon will be displayed on the instrument panel and the red general indicator lamp will illuminate to indicate this condition.

Turn Signal Hazards

If a faulty turn signal is detected, the turn signal warning light will flash twice as fast and the problem will be shown on the digital display.
