The rear suspension consists of a spring and shock absorber assembly attached to the frame via ball joints.

The shock absorber is equipped with a set screw to adjust the setting (1), regulating hydraulic damping during rebound stroke, round nut (2), adjusting the spring preload, and a locking round nut.

Attention!
  • When operating the vehicle in wet or dusty areas, off-road or for sporting purposes, maintenance must be carried out twice as often as recommended.
  • Check the rear shock absorber and adjust it if necessary.
  • The standard rear shock setting is designed for touring.
  • However, this setting can be adjusted to suit the specific operating requirements of the vehicle.

Counting the number of clicks of the adjustment screw (1), be sure to start with the hardest setting (the adjusting screw is turned all the way clockwise).

To avoid damage, do not attempt to turn the adjusting screw (1) beyond the travel in any direction.

Using a special wrench, unscrew the locking round nut (3).

Turning the adjusting round nut (2), adjust the spring preload (A).

After completing the adjustment, tighten the round nut (3).

To adjust the hydraulic damping of the shock absorber's rebound stroke, turn the screw (1).

Attention!
  • Adjust the spring preload and rebound damping of the shock absorber to suit vehicle operating conditions.
  • To avoid sudden jolts while driving, increasing the spring preload requires increasing the rebound damping accordingly.
  • If necessary, contact an authorized Aprilia dealer. Test drive the vehicle until you achieve the optimal adjustment.
