Removing and installing needle roller bearings and needle roller races in angled lever (BMW F650GS)

Removing needle roller bearings and needle roller races



Remove angled lever.



Remove bearing bushings (4, 11, 10).

Lever out sealing rings (6, 7) with screwdriver.



Note: To facilitate removal, heat the angled lever to 100°C (212°F).

Use temperature measuring device, BMW # 00 1 900, to check heat rise.


Drive out needle roller bearings (8, 9) with drift, BMW # 33 6 620.



Drive out needle roller races (5) with drift, BMW # 33 6 661.


Installing needle roller bearings and needle roller races





Heat bearing seats to 100°C (212°F).



Drive in needle roller bearing (9) with drift, BMW # 33 6 631, working from both sides.

Press-in depth "A": 4 mm (0.16 in).



Press in needle roller bearing (8) with drift, BMW # 33 6 631.


Press-in depth "B": 4 mm (0.16 in).



Drive in needle roller races (5) with drift, BMW # 33 6 611, and spacing sleeve, BMW # 33 6 613, working from both sides.

Press-in depth "C": 4.5 mm (0.18 in).





Press in sealing rings (7) with drift, BMW # 33 6 631, and spacing ring, BMW # 33 6 632.



Press in sealing rings (6) with drift, BMW # 33 6 611, and spacing ring, BMW # 33 6 614.

Install bearing bushings (4, 11, 10).
