- Monoshock tie rod overhaul
The monoshock tie rod consists of a central rod (A), two nuts (B and C) and two ball joints (D). The ball joints at the pivot hole have two bushes (E).
Remove the bushes and turn the inner rings by hand to check the play in the ball joints. Change ball joints with excessive play.
The nut (C) has a left-hand thread and is marked accordingly. Fit the left-hand nut (C) at the mark on the central rod (A).
The centre-to-centre distance between the ball joints must be 272 mm/10.708 in.
Changing this distance will change the suspension layout and bike trim.
Tighten the nuts on the central rod to a torque setting of 34-37 Nm.
