Warning!
  • Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
  • A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
  • An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the motorcycle.

1. Rear brake fluid reservoir; 2. Upper level line; 3. Lower level line

1. The reservoir is visible from the right hand side of the motorcycle, forward of the silencer, below the rider's seat.

2. To inspect the fluid level, check the level of fluid visible in the reservoir. The fluid level must be kept between the upper and lower level lines (reservoir held horizontal).

3. To adjust the fluid level, remove the reservoir cap and diaphragm seal. Fill the reservoir to the upper level line using new DOT 4 fluid from a sealed container.

4. Refit the reservoir cap ensuring that the diaphragm seal is correctly fitted.

Warning! If there has been an appreciable drop in the level of the fluid in either fluid reservoir, consult your authorised Triumph dealer for advice before riding. Riding with depleted brake fluid levels, or with a brake fluid leak is dangerous and will cause reduced brake performance potentially leading to loss of motorcycle control and an accident.

Changing brake fluid

Brake fluid must be changed every two calendar years, irrespective of the mileage the motorcycle has covered in that time.
