Unscrew the filler cap (A) from the expansion tank. Loosen the clip (1) on the hose between the expansion tank and the radiator.
Disconnect the hose from the radiator and allow the expansion tank to drain off.
Place a container under the engine and then rest the bike on its side kickstand.
Unscrew the drain plug (2) on the pump cover and the screw (3) on the coupling of the horizontal cylinder.
Slowly unscrew the radiator cap (B).
Warning! Burns hazards. Where possible this operation must be carried out when the engine is cold. If this is not possible, proceed with extreme caution. Use a thick rag to grip radiator cap. Turn the radiator cap slowly anti-clockwise until it comes to the stop. This will allow the pressure inside the radiator to be released and will prevent the escape of hot coolant and steam.
Allow the coolant to drain off fully.
Refit the drain plug (2) and the screw (3) complete with a new washer. Refit the hose to the radiator and tighten the clip (1).
Fill the circuit with the coolant solution specified until the radiator is completely full.
Wait several minutes for the coolant to fill all the internal ducts and then start the engine.
Run the engine for 10 minutes with the coolant at a temperature of 110°С/230°F.
Switch off. Allow the engine to cool down so that all the air is discharged from the cooling circuit.
Warning! Cuts and entrapment hazard. Do not place your hands or items of loose clothing close to the fan. The fan operates automatically and can start up at any time.
Caution Check the cooling circuit for leaks.
Check that the radiator is full. Top up where necessary.
Tighten the radiator cap (B).
Fill the circuit through the expansion tank filler until the coolant level is 10 mm/0.4 in. above the MIN mark.
Refit and tighten the expansion tank cap (A). Refit the fairings sections and instrument panel side covers.
