Remove the fuel filler cap (A) complete with its seal. Empty the fuel tank.
Remove the fuel tank.
When refitting the fuel filler cap assembly (A), use threadlocker on the thread and use a new seal gasket.
Unscrew the four nuts (B) fixing the flange to the tank.
Screw three M6 screws into the threaded holes on the flange and raise the flange from the tank.
Loosen the clips (C) on the tank drain and breather hoses.
Disconnect the flange from the drain and breather hoses.
Disconnect the fuel gauge connection.
Remove the complete flange from the tank.
Loosen the clips (D) on the fuel filter.
Disconnect the filter from the fuel hoses and fit a new filter.
Before starting reassembly, clean all parts thoroughly. Carefully blow through the mesh filter on the pump inlet.
Caution! Proceed with care. Do not use strong air jets to clean the pump intake mesh filter. A strong jet may damage the mesh.
Fit the new filter with the arrow stamped on the outer container pointing towards the flange.
Grease the new О-ring (E) on the flange and refit the unit following the disassembly procedure in reverse.
Note. Ensure that the unit is fitted with the flange pointing in the correct direction. The arrows and the legend FRONT must be pointing forwards in the direction of travel of the vehicle.
