Warning! Drive at a speed appropriate to the road surface and driving conditions. Never exceed the posted speed limit. If you exceed the speed limit, you may lose control, which could result in serious injury or death.
See Figure 7. The speedometer displays the speed in miles per hour (in motorcycle models sold in the USA) or in kilometers per hour (in motorcycle models in export version). The speedometer also performs the following functions (selectable by switching):
- Odometer
- Daily mileage counters (A and B)
- Clock with 12 or 24 hour time format
- Kilometers corresponding to the amount of fuel in the tank
Warning! Never attempt to tamper with or alter your motorcycle's odometer readings. This is a violation of the law. As a result of tampering with or altering the motorcycle's odometer readings, the motorcycle's equipment may be damaged.
The same speedometer window is used to perform all the above functions.
1. See Figure 7. When the ignition key is in any position, pressing the function switch button will display the odometer and clock in the speedometer window.
The time and mileage/kilometers can be viewed without unlocking the ignition switch. To view the odometer window, press and release the function switch button once. The second time you press the button, the time will be shown.
2. The ignition switch must be in the ACC or IGNITION position to check the mileage in the trip odometer window. Press and release the function switch button until the desired daily mileage counter appears in the window.
You can determine which daily mileage meter is currently on the screen by the letter A or B displayed in the upper left corner of the display window.
3. To reset the daily mileage counter (A or B), you need to call up the desired counter on the display screen. Press the function switch button and hold it pressed for 2-3 seconds. The daily mileage counter will be reset to 0.
4. If you want to reset both daily mileage counters, repeat this procedure for both mileage counters.
