Lamp indicating the need to check the engine
See Figure 8. The check engine light is located among the instrument cluster. Its purpose is to indicate whether the engine and its control system are operating normally or not. The lamp indicating the need to check the engine is red.
The first time this light comes on is when the motorcycle's ignition is turned on for the first time. It remains illuminated for approximately 4 seconds while the engine management system performs a series of diagnostic tests (self-test). If the lamp begins to illuminate at any other time, contact your Harley-Davidson dealer.
Lamp warning of insufficient fuel quantity
See Figure 8. The low fuel warning light is located among the instrument cluster. The low fuel warning light illuminates to indicate approximately 1 gallon remains in the tank (3.8 liters) gasoline. The low fuel warning light glows orange.
