Check the brake pad anti-rattle spring and retaining pin. Renew any component which shows signs of damage or corrosion.

Check there is no sign of leakage from the piston seals. Rectify any problems before installing the brake pads.

Inspect the brake pads for wear (see Front brake wear inspection).
