Warning!
  • Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
  • A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
  • An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the motorcycle.


Perform the following operations:
  • Seat - removal
  • Battery - removal

Caution! To prevent paint damage, do not spill brake fluid onto any area of the bodywork. Spilled brake fluid will damage paintwork.


1. To drain the fluid from the master cylinder, attach a tube to the right hand caliper bleed nipple, loosen the nipple and allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container. Operate the brake lever until all fluid has been expelled.

Note: Note the position of the brake light switch for installation.


2. Disconnect from the master cylinder the:
  • brake hose
  • brake light switch.

3. Release the clamp screws from the handlebar to remove the master cylinder assembly.
