Warning!
- Make sure the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported.
- A correctly supported motorcycle will help prevent it from falling.
- An unstable motorcycle may fall, causing injury to the operator or damage to the motorcycle.
Caution! To prevent paint damage, do not spill brake fluid onto any area of the bodywork. Spilled brake fluid will damage paintwork.
1. Remove the brake pads (see Rear brake pads - removal).
2. Release the fixing and remove the rear ABS wheel speed sensor. Collect the shim from between the sensor and rear caliper carrier and discard the fixing.

3. Disconnect the rear brake hose at the caliper and place the free end of the hose in a suitable container to collect the brake fluid. Discard the sealing washers.
Note: Note the position of the rear brake caliper for installation.
4. Remove the rear wheel (see Rear wheel - removal).
5. Remove the brake caliper and carrier assembly.
