Prepare



1. Remove main fuse. See Power disconnect.

2. Remove headlamp fairing. See Headlamp fairing.

3. Remove right handlebar switch housing. See Right handlebar switch housing.

4. Remove throttle control. See Throttle control.

5. Remove front brake master cylinder. See Front brake master cylinder.

6. Remove left hand grip. See Hand grips.

7. Remove left handlebar switch housing. See Left handlebar switch housing.

8. Remove clutch hand control. See Clutch control.

9. Remove speedometer. See Removing and installing speedometer.

10. Remove headlamp. See Removing and installing headlamp.

Handlebar



1. See Figure 3-60. Remove handlebar.
  • a. Remove short screws (7).
  • b. Remove upper riser (6).
  • c. Remove handlebar (1) from lower riser (2).

Handlebar Riser



1. Remove handlebar.

2. See Figure 3-60. Remove lower riser.
  • a. Remove long screws (5) and upper fairing bracket (4).
  • b. Remove lower riser (2).

Lower handlebar riser screw42.7-47.3 Nm32-34 ft·lbs
Upper handlebar riser screw22.8-25.2 Nm17-18 ft·lbs

Handlebar Riser



1. See Figure 3-60. Install lower riser.
  • a. Insert long screws (5) through upper fairing bracket (4) and upper fork bracket (3).
  • b. Install lower riser (2) to upper fork bracket.
  • c. Tighten long screws to42.7-47.3 Nm (32-34 ft·lbs).

2. Install handlebar.

Handlebar



1. See Figure 3-60. Install handlebar.
  • a. Center handlebar (1) in lower riser (2).

4. Install left handlebar switch housing. See Left handlebar switch housing.

5. Install left hand grip. See Hand grips.

6. Install front brake master cylinder. See Front brake master cylinder.

7. Install throttle control. See Throttle control.

8. Install right handlebar switch housing. See Right handlebar switch housing.

9. Install headlamp fairing. See Headlamp fairing.

10. Install main fuse. See Power disconnect.
  • b. Install upper riser (6).
  • c. Install short screws (7). Tighten to 22.8-25.2 Nm (17-18 ft·lbs).

Complete



1. Install headlamp. See Removing and installing headlamp.

2. Install speedometer. See Removing and installing speedometer.

3. Install clutch hand control. See Clutch control.
