Remove
Purge
1. Remove fuel pump fuse. See Fuses and relays.
Warning: Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive. Keep gasoline away from ignition sources which could result in death or serious injury. See the Safety chapter.
Warning: To prevent spray of fuel, purge system of high-pressure fuel before supply line is disconnected. Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive, which could result in death or serious injury.
2. Purge fuel from fuel supply line.
- a. Start engine.
- b. Allow vehicle to stall.
- c. Operate starter for 3 seconds to remove any remaining fuel.
Remove
1. See Figure 6-7. Remove lower fuel line.
- a. Push up on sleeve of quick disconnect fitting (1).
- b. Remove fuel line (2) from quick disconnect fitting.
- c. Press up on tabs (3) to release lock.
- d. Pull fuel line away from fuel rail.
2. See Figure 6-8. Remove upper fuel line.
- a. Remove fuel tank. See Fuel tank.
- b. Remove hose clamp (2) from bracket (4).
- c. Release lock (3). Detach fuel line (1) from fuel pump.
- d. Remove clip (6) securing quick disconnect fitting to bracket (4).
- e. Remove fuel line (1).
Install
1. See Figure 6-8. Install upper fuel line.
- a. Install fuel line (1).
- b. Install quick disconnect fitting to bracket (4) with clip (6).
- c. Attach fuel line (1) to fuel pump. Press down on lock (3).
- d. Install hose clamp (2) to bracket (4).
- e. Install fuel tank. See Fuel tank.
2. See Figure 6-7. Install lower fuel line.
- a. Attach fuel line to fuel rail.
- b. Engage lock (3) to secure fuel line to fuel rail.
- c. Press up on sleeve of quick disconnect fitting (1).
- d. Insert fuel line (2).
- e. Release sleeve of quick disconnect fitting to secure fuel line.
3. Install fuel pump fuse. See Fuses and relays.
