Check Free Play

1. See Figure 2-17. Measure clutch lever free play.

a. Pull clutch cable ferrule (1) away from clutch cable adjuster (2).
b. Measure free play (3).

Adjust Cable

1. See Figure 2-18. Adjust lower clutch cable.

a. Verify that the clutch actuator (6) lever is fully disengaged.
b. Loosen lower jamnuts (4).
c. Position clutch cable (1) to remove slack.
d. Tighten lower jamnuts (4).

2. See Figure 2-18. Adjust upper clutch cable.

a. Verify that the clutch actuator lever (6) is fully disengaged.
b. Loosen upper jamnut (3).
c. Turn clutch cable adjuster (2) to adjust to specification. Refer to Table 2-6.
d. Tighten upper jamnut (3).
