Check Free Play



1. See Figure 2-17. Measure clutch lever free play.
  • a. Pull clutch cable ferrule (1) away from clutch cable adjuster (2).
  • b. Measure free play (3).

Adjust Cable



1. See Figure 2-18. Adjust lower clutch cable.
  • a. Verify that the clutch actuator (6) lever is fully disengaged.
  • b. Loosen lower jamnuts (4).
  • c. Position clutch cable (1) to remove slack.
  • d. Tighten lower jamnuts (4).

2. See Figure 2-18. Adjust upper clutch cable.
  • a. Verify that the clutch actuator lever (6) is fully disengaged.
  • b. Loosen upper jamnut (3).
  • c. Turn clutch cable adjuster (2) to adjust to specification. Refer to Table 2-6.
  • d. Tighten upper jamnut (3).
